A Place to Call Home is the name of our capital campaign to raise funds for the construction of a much needed new home for My Brother’s House I (MBH 1) in Holland, Michigan. (MBH 1 was the first home owned and operated by the Holland Deacons’ Conference (HDC) for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities back in 1981.) When complete, this new home will be completely barrier free, provide housing for a residential supervisor and family, provide a safe, nurturing, and life enriching Christian environment for those who will call it as “home,” and also help raise the community profile of HDC’s important work and mission.
To learn more about our campaign, you can read a nice the article about it that appeared in the Holland Sentinel (<–click on link to read) in December 2015. After you’ve taken the time to read and learn more about this important undertaking, please prayerfully consider supporting it.
Campaign Update: By the end of January 2016 we had received contributions and pledges totaling just over 75% of our campaign goal of $250,000. We are grateful to God for these gifts. We are also asking and trusting God to lead others to join those who have already given in achieving our campaign goal in support of the men of MBH 1.
If you choose to financially support this effort, you may do so in one of the following ways: 1.) mail a check* ; 2.) send us a note indicating how much you will pledge and when (pledges may be for up to two years); or 3.) make a secure online contribution right here on our website by clicking on “DONATE” at the top of the page and completing a simple form.
