HDC Co-Sponsors Training for Those Who Serve

DignityServes_logo The Holland Deacons’ Conference is co-sponsoring Dignity Serves, a two-day training event on October 14 & 15 in Holland that ill give you and your organization practical ways to improve your efforts to help others. (Other event co-sponsors are Good Samaritan Ministries, Holland Rescue Mission and Central Wesleyan Church) Dignity Serves is a six lesson interactive workshop taught by well trained and experienced facilitators that uses biblical principles and experiential exercises to inspire ‘servant-ness’ and dignified relationships of giving and receiving. Perhaps you have read When Helping Hurts or Toxic Charity.  Maybe you wonder how to help without hurting others, without compounding dependency, without being paternalistic. It is a paradigm shifting, deeply impactful learning experience that will teach you how to give and receive with dignity in every aspect of life. Go to this link to learn more about this event or to register on-line. HDC is providing some limited financial assistance to any deacon presently serving in a Classis Holland CRC congregation who is interested and able to attend, but for whom payment of the entire fee is a challenge.  For more information or to request assistance, please contact Jack at the Holland Deacons’ Conference office at 616.494.6050 or by email at jack@hdccrc.org.
