It’s not too late to register for next week’s Dignity Serves training! As mentioned in a previous posting, Dignity Serves is a two-day training event on October 14 & 15 in Holland that will give you and your church or organization practical ways to improve your efforts to help others. The training sessions are led by well trained and experienced facilitators using biblical principles and experiential exercises to inspire ‘servant-ness’ and dignified relationships of giving and receiving.
Perhaps you’ve read When Helping Hurts or Toxic Charity and/or want to know more about how to help without hurting others, without compounding or creating dependency, without being paternalistic. Be prepared for a paradigm shifting and deeply impactful learning experience that will teach you how to give and receive with dignity in every aspect of life.
HDC is providing some limited financial assistance to any deacon presently serving in a Classis Holland CRC congregation who is interested and able to attend, but for whom payment of the entire fee is a challenge. For more information or to request assistance, please contact Jack at the Holland Deacons’ Conference office at 616.494.6050 or by email at email@example.com.
